Fairfield, CT - You do not want to miss this party: Nora Chipaumire returning to the Quick Center at Fairfield University on Friday evening, Nov. 2. This is an opportunity to put on your favorite pair of sneakers and dance as guests experience a performance unlike anything ever seen before at the Quick.

Here's a small sample of what ticketholders can expect -- a clip of her sell-out run at NYC's The Kitchen:

Performing her musical trilogy in its entirety, iconoclast choreographer Nora Chipaumire returns to the Quick with #PUNK 100% POP *N!GGA. Inspired by her formative years in Zimbabwe during the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, she confronts and celebrates punk, pop and Congolese rumba through the music of Patti Smith, Grace Jones, and Rit Nzele. Each session of the work exists as a complete statement and is performed together as an epic song cycle (like an album). Together the trio paints a sonic and visual landscape, engaging voice, gesture and sound clash installation.

In #PUNK, Chipaumire enacts punk's rejection of the status quo, ethics, and ethos, embracing the possibility that there is no future, that the future is in the present. 100% POP is an imagined utopia drawn from the memories of a formless girl being shaped as she discovers Grace Jones. Conjuring up the depth and swagger of Congolese vocal performer and animator Rit Nzele, *N!GGA is inspired by the inventive and joyful worlds of sapeurs, sebenes, atalaku, and rumba musicians of Africa.

Tickets are still available but selling fast there is limited capacity for this show. Ticket includes cocktails and treats!
