Half Full Brewery to Open Winter Beer Garden in Stamford, Dec. 7

STAMFORD, Conn. – Half Full Brewery and Mill River Park Collaborative announced the launch of the Half Full Winter Beer Garden in Stamford, Conn.’s Mill River Park. The two week pop-up, intended to celebrate and unite local residents, businesses and entrepreneurs, opens next Friday, December 7th. The Half Full Winter Beer Garden coincides with Mill River Park Collaborative’s Holiday Market and “Winter Wonderland” programming in and around the newly opened Steven & Alexandra Cohen Skating Center.

"We are excited to work with the Mill River Park Collaborative, Innovate Stamford and CTNext to create a festive pop-up beer garden, market and entrepreneurial environment this holiday season," said Conor Horrigan, Founder & Chief Hoptimist at Half Full Brewery. "As with all our events, our goal here is to work with others to bring the Stamford community together by offering different and exciting things to do in unique settings. The Winter Beer Garden is the perfect addition to Mill River’s ‘Winter Wonderland,’ which will offer something for everyone this holiday season.”

The Half Full Winter Beer Garden will be located in Mill River Park opposite the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Skating Center, and will feature an enclosed bar serving Half Full beer, cider and wine with a festive “après-skate” inspired lounge in 2,500 square feet of space. Furniture and decorative pieces for the custom space were provided by the Ferguson Library as well as three local and long-standing Stamford businesses: LoveSac, United House Wrecking and Second Chance by Junkluggers.

About CTNext

CTNext is a public/private network of entrepreneurs, mentors, service providers and others helping Connecticut’s most promising startups succeed and grow. In 2016, CTNext expanded to new initiatives helping key places in the state become magnets for talent, supporting entrepreneurship in higher education, and focusing more on growth-stage companies. The first of these efforts, Innovation Places, weaves together entrepreneurship support and relationship-building with physical planning and development. Stamford is one of four designated Innovation Places in the State of CT.

About Innovate Stamford

In 2017, Innovate Stamford formed and was catalyzed with a $2 million grant from CTNext to integrate places, institutions and people who have historically been unconnected into a cohesive hub for innovation. These include emerging live-work-play-learn neighborhoods in the South End and downtown; economic, cultural and educational anchor institutions such as UConn-Stamford and The Ferguson Library; early-stage entrepreneurs and leaders of their global customers; and public spaces such as parks, plazas, and other pedestrian destinations.
