Stamford, CT - The New Paradigm Theatre (NPT), in partnership with Emmanuel Church, is excited to offer “SO YA WANNA BE A BROADWAY STAR- Focus on Getting an Agent" workshop June 23rd, Sunday, 2-4:30 pm with NY agent, Jeremy Sickels.
This class, offered to students (Ages 10-adult), will answer those burning questions you have about how to get an agent, and what to do once you have one. We will cover the all important follow-up interview as well as a variety of ways you can showcase yourself to catch their attention.
Each year New Paradigm Theatre offers their signature event SO YA WANNA BE A BROADWAY STAR in the Fall, for performers who would like to receive comments on their singing performances. Broadway, Film and TV pros give comments in a “real-time, real-world” style to help each performer.
NPT has also begun offering more focused workshops on specific topics such as monologues, TV and Commercial acting and now…how to get that all important agent. Past focused classes have ben presented by Emmy nominee, Scott Bryce, TV star from the “Have and the Have Nots” Renee Lawless and now NY agent, Jeremy Sickels with the Daniel Hoff Agency.
This focused class will give each student the chance to ask questions, observe a mock interview. and to learn how to utilize professional techniques offered by Mr. Sickels. Questions you may have: What kind of resumes look the best? What should your headshot look like? How do you find and contact agents? How do you follow up? What is the best way to work with an agent to find auditions? Why do you need an agent? How do agencies differ and what to look for? Do I really need an agent and can I submit for auditions myself…and how? After the 2.5 hour class the participants will have a chance to have Jeremy review their headshots and resumes.
Participants in this workshop will also be considered for NPT gigs including our summer productions and holiday shows. This workshop does not guarantee that you will get a NY agent but it will help you understand the ins and outs of how to market yourself to them and how to work with an agent once you get the right one!
