All Female Indie Rock Group Kid Sistr Performs 6/21 in Fairfield

Fairfield, CT - As part of Make Music Day Fairfield, Kid Sistr will perform two shows in Fairfield. Their indie rock is characterized by a willingness to get strange, silly, sad or soft in order to tell profound stories.

Kid Sistr is a New York-based all-female indie rock group. The group takes influence from a wide range of artists and bands. Their influences include contemporary artists such as St. Vincent, Margaret Glaspy and Julia Michaels, as well as icons of the past like Talking Heads, The Police and Pretenders. Kid Sistr’s music is characterized by a willingness to get strange, silly, sad or soft in order to tell profound stories of femininity, power, ambition, heartbreak, sisterhood, sexuality and friendship.

The group’s music is also influenced by each member’s individual taste and ability. Kid Sistr is made up of Sabel, 22 (vocals and guitar), Sara Keden, 22 (vocals and electric bass), and Rebecca Webster, 18 (drums). Sara and Sabel are both graduates of University of Miami’s Frost School of Music. Sabel has gained over 150k plays on her solo music, as well as gained standing as a well known performing artist in the greater New York area. Sara has toured nationally and internationally as an electric bass player since the age of 14; her latest work is as a touring bassist and backup vocalist for Interscope artist Billy Raffoul.

Rebecca boasts a similar touring background; additionally, in 2016, Rebecca won the Hit Like a Girl international drumming competition at the age of 16. Her win gained her a platform through which she had the opportunity to perform with Michael League of Snarky Puppy, members of The Allman Brothers Band, and members of Dead and Co.

Kid Sistr looks to enhance the typical live music experience with their charisma on stage as well as their ability to tap into their own and their audience’s emotions. So far, the group has played a number of shows in and around New York City at venues such as Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, and NYC Sofar Sounds. Kid Sistr has sold out three times at The Turning Point in Piermont, NY. The trio plans to release their debut EP in the coming year, and perform as much as possible. Come see the show!
