Bridgeport, CT - City of Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim is helping support St. Vincent’s Medical Center Foundation’s 32nd Anniversary SWIM Across the Sound with the Paint the City Blue campaign.  The Mayor will be unveiling a new giant city banner and showcasing a newly painted blue Bank Street.  The ceremony will be held by McLevy Hall at the corner of Bank Street and Broad Street on Monday, July 8, 2019 at 1:00 pm.  Mayor Ganim will be sharing information about the City’s Banner program, which allows businesses and individuals to sponsor streetlights in the city with a personalized banner in honor of or in memory of a loved one, with proceeds helping cancer patients in our community.

Paint the City Blue culminates with the 32nd SWIM Across the Sound Marathon on Saturday, August 3, 2019, which is the SWIM’s marquee fundraising event.  Swimmers, escort and perimeter boats will be leaving Port Jefferson, NY, to make the 15.5-mile journey to Captain’s Cove Seaport in Black Rock Harbor.  The weekend ends with an Interfaith Memorial Service at Captain’s Cove on Sunday, August 4, 2019.
