Veteran to Walk From Fairfield to Hartford Capital

Fairfield, CT - A local disabled Afghanistan veteran and founder of The Freedom Isn’t Free ride Foundation, Inc., which hosts the FREEDOM ISN’T FREE RIDE charity motorcycle ride annually on the first Saturday of August, is walking from Town Hall in Fairfield to the State Capital building in Hartford to raise awareness of veterans issues especially homelessness and invisible wounds. Due to his own disabilities this veteran on a mission, Russell Edgett, will be followed on his route by a car so that when walking is not possible because of his physical limitations, he can get in his wheelchair and complete his mission.

This event will begin at Town Hall in Fairfield at 10:00 Friday morning July 12 and is expected to culminate with arrival at the State Capital building hopefully at about 10:30 Saturday morning July 13th. It is hoped that Governor Lamont, Senator Blumenthal, Representative Himes and local state representatives will meet him at the Capital building Saturday morning.  See the route and follow him on facebook/Freedom Isn’t Free ride.
