Summer Reading Challenge Finale Aug. 10 at Fairfield Public Library

Fairfield, Conn. - Summer seems to fly by so quickly. The goal of Fairfield Library's summer reading challenge, “A Universe of Stories”, was for Fairfielders of all ages to read 1,000 minutes for 1,000 points, with a town-wide goal of 1 million points. Although there's still a month to go before the deadline of August 31, the Library has already logged 980,183 points and counting! Keep reading to see how far we can go, but save Saturday, August 10 to celebrate summer reading together at the Fairfield Public Library, 1080 Old Post Road.

At 10am, children ages 0-5 will dance and sing at the Library's Twinkle Tots Star Party. Throughout the day, children entering grades K-5 can stop by to participate in fun games, crafts and activities. At 3pm, enjoy a performance for the whole family by the School of Rock Fairfield. No registration is necessary, just drop-in. Summer Reading Challenge raffle winners will be announced following School of Rock’s performance. There will also be a special raffle for those who attend the programs!

Haven’t signed up for the Summer Challenge yet? There’s still time! Sign up online or in person when you visit.
