Town of Fairfield Celebrates Four Little League Champion Teams!

Fairfield, CT - First Selectman Mike Tetreau and Parks and Recreation Director Anthony Calabrese are very pleased to announce that the Town of Fairfield will hold a celebration for four Little League Team Champions!

The celebration, which is open to all members of the public, will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 4:30 pm at the Sherman Green Gazebo, corner of Post and Reef Roads in downtown Fairfield.

The Town will honor the Fairfield American Little League 10U District (F.A.L.L.10D) team for winning the titles of District 2 Champions, Section 1 Champions, and CT State Champions; the Fairfield National Little League 11U District All-Star team for winning the titles of East Region Champions, District 2 Champions, Section 1 Champions and Connecticut State Champions; the Fairfield Little League Girls Softball Juniors All-Stars for winning the State Champion and New England Champion; and the Fairfield Little League Girls Softball 11U All-Stars for winning the titles of District 2 Champions, Section 1 Champions and Connecticut State Champions.

A brief speaking ceremony will be held and certificates of congratulations will be presented to each team. The Town’s Parks and Recreation Department will have a DJ and balloons and Saugatuck Sweets is generously offering free ice cream to players and coaches. The Fairfield Fire Department will park one of its trucks along Sherman Green.

Additionally, the Town will honor Fairfield Ludlowe High School (FLHS) student and former Fairfield American Little League player Aiden Blanc who, along with three other teens from around the country, has been chosen by ESPN to broadcast one of the Little League World Series games on August 21, 2019 at 7:30 pm on ESPN2. At just ten years old, Aiden was emceeing the Opening Day Ceremony for Fairfield American Little League! Now 16 and going into his junior year, Aiden has been broadcasting games at FLHS and is very excited to provide play-by-play for ESPN on August 21st!
