Fairfield, CT - The Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Fairfield, 2325 Burr Street, presents its Fall Bird Seed Sale on Saturday, Sept. 28 (Pre-orders due Sept. 18), 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Save 20% and stock up to feed your backyard visitors this season.
Backyard feeding contributes to the health and survival of birds during the colder months. Stock up for the season with premium bird seed that will be 20% off at The Connecticut Audubon Society’s annual Fall Bird Seed Sale on Saturday, September 28.
The Connecticut Audubon Society’s Fairfield Nature Store offers a wide selection of bird seed for attracting the greatest variety of birds to your feeder. But what to put on the menu? Most birds that winter in Connecticut are seed eaters. Seed and suet provide the calories and nourishment they need to stay warm and healthy as the cold weather approaches and food becomes scarce. Good choices include black oil sunflower seed, safflower seed (squirrels and grackles don’t like it), Nyjer and suet—a great energy source.
The Fairfield Nature Store, located at 2325 Burr Street, is open Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. To ensure your preferred varieties and quantities are available for pick-up on sale day, you can order your seed in advance if you place a pre-order by Wednesday, September 18. Pre-order forms are available at the store, or at: www.ctaudubon.org/fairfield-nature-store/. For more information call the Center at Fairfield Nature Store, (203) 259-6305, x.109.
