Fairfield, CT - From calling plays to scooping ice cream, come support Connecticut’s top athletic coaches at the “Coaches Scoop for a Cause” fundraiser hosted by Berni & Murcer – Friends for LifeTM to kick-off National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month on Saturday, September 14th from 1:00pm–5:00pm at Saugatuck Sweets, 28 Reef Road in Fairfield, Connecticut.
The fundraiser will feature Collegiate Athletic Team Coaches from Sacred Heart University (Women’s Basketball; Women’s Ice Hockey; Women’s Equestrian and Swimming & Diving scooping ice cream to customers!
For every ice cream cone sold, Saugatuck Sweets will donate a percentage to the Berni & Murcer - Friends for Life "Comfort Backpack" program to children and their families diagnosed with cancer. The“Comfort Backpacks” provide vital emotional support, inspiration, and encouragement to children and their families during treatment and beyond.
The goal is to raise the funds to create and distribute 100 "Comfort Backpacks" to children in hospitals throughout Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts and beyond. For more information or to make a donation, please visit www.berniandmurcer.org.
