Southport, CT - In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Pequot is proud to showcase several films celebrating Hispanic culture/filmmakers. Bring your own refreshments and enjoy on the Auditorium’s “big screen.”
"The Spirit of the Beehive" will be the first showing, set for Wednesday, September 18, 3-5pm. It has been widely hailed as the greatest Spanish film of the 1970s, and the performance of child actress Ana Torrent is deemed legendary. Visually stunning, the story takes place after Spain’s civil war. In this allegorical tale, 6-year-old Ana, after seeing the movie Frankenstein, becomes fascinated with finding the monster’s spirit. (Not rated. Duration: 1 hour 38 minutes.)
