Meet Author Chris Formant at Pequot Library, Feb. 27

Southport, CT - The soldiers were untested in battle, many only teenagers, yet by the end of the vicious and bloody Battle of Brooklyn on August 27, 1776, the Maryland 400 would turn the tide of the Revolutionary War and ensure the birth of a new nation. This relatively unknown military engagement, and the citizen soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice, are the inspiration for "Saving Washington: The Forgotten Story of the Maryland 400 and the Battle of Brooklyn."

Novelist Chris Formant is a student of history. He’s a former top executive of a multibillion-dollar global business and is now the CEO of a technology company. Formant is an unlikely author of historical fiction, but the heroic story of the Maryland’s Forgotten 400 drove him to assemble an expert team to help him conduct painstaking research and then write his highly anticipated second book, "Saving Washington."

Meet Chris at Pequot Library Thursday, February 27, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
