Int'l Women's Day Festivities at Fairfield Museum

Fairfield, CT - Celebrate International Women’s Day on Sunday, March 8, from 10am - 4pm at the Fairfield Museum - a great event for mothers, daughters and the whole family! Admission is free for all who come and join in the festivities including “craft your own sash” to challenge stereotypes and fight bias in an effort to help broaden perceptions and celebrate women’s achievements throughout the years. 

Sunday’s event is the next in the museum’s 2020 program series, Voting Was Just the Beginning: 100 Years of Women Making History. This series marks the centennial of women’s suffrage and celebrates the achievements of women leaders nationally. Additional upcoming March events include:

March 18, 12:30pm-1:30pm, Connecticut Women and the Battle for the Ballot, with Kelly Marino, Ph.D., Coordinator of Women’s Studies at Sacred Heart University. At this History Bites Lunchtime Chat, learn about key leaders and specific events from the Fairfield region along with statewide activism, emphasizing the important role that Connecticut played in the passage of the Nineteenth Amendment.

March 22, 3pm-4:30pm: ERA: What’s Happening? Presented by the Fairfield League of Women Voters, come hear Cindy Wolfe Boynton, CT NOW President and Christine DeTroy, longtime activist for Women’s rights, speak about the passage of the ERA, why it matters today and what’s next.
