Westport Woman’s Club Presents Outdoor Jazz w/ Chris Coogan, Fri. Oct. 9

Westport, CT - The Westport Woman’s Club invites the community to an Outdoor Jazz Concert on Friday, October 9th from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.  This socially distant concert experience will feature local musician Chris Coogan, and will be happening right outside the beautiful WWC Clubhouse (44 Imperial Avenue, Westport, CT).  Your concert attendance raises money for community grants and Westport student scholarships, as the WWC supports many non-profits in the area that focus on helping women and children.

Limited tickets are $40 (1 adult) and $65 (2 adults); children are free.  Food will be available for purchase throughout the evening from “El Chamo”, offering urban food from Venezuela.  If desired, you can bring your own alcoholic beverages.  Parking will be available at the Club’s lower lot, and you can walk up the stone stairs to the seating area.  Please bring your own chairs and maybe a blanket so you can enjoy the concert comfortably; outdoor venue opens for socially distanced concert seating at 4:30pm.  For tickets and more information, visit www.westportwomansclub.org.

The concert’s featured musician, Chris Coogan, has led combos for over 20 years, with a repertoire that includes straight-ahead jazz, fusion jazz, and boogie-woogie.  Coogan’s jazz career includes performing with locals Paul Newman and James Naughton, as well as Bette Midler, Donna Summer, Gene Wilder, Ronnie Spector, among many more notables.

The Westport Woman’s Club, organized in 1907, is a non-profit philanthropic organization dedicated to volunteerism and the raising of funds in support of the educational, charitable, cultural and public health services in Westport and surrounding towns.  You do not have to be a Westport Resident to join The Westport Woman’s Club.  To join, call the WWC office at 203-227-4240.
