Southport, CT - Pequot Library's Annual July 4th Parade starts at the Five Corners in Southport Village with decorated bikes, scooters, and wagons, then parades down Pequot Avenue to arrive at the Great Lawn of Pequot Library where participants can enjoy face-painting, sack races, hula hooping, bubble gum contests and crafts.
Chris Frantz, an American musician and record producer, is returning for the 3rd year to lead the parade. Frantz is the drummer for both the Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, both of which he co-founded with wife and Talking Heads bassist Tina Weymouth. In 2002, Frantz was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Talking Heads.
