Norwalk Oyster Fest Issues Health & Safety Policy

Norwalk, CT - In accordance with the State of Connecticut and the City of Norwalk mandates, the Norwalk Oyster Festival has issued the following Policy Statement regarding its Health and Safety Policy for the Norwalk Oyster Festival being held at Veterans Park in Norwalk on September 10, 11, and 12.
 
The Norwalk Seaport Association organizers of the Norwalk Oyster Festival consider the health and safety of our patrons, performers, vendors, volunteers, and staff to be its highest priority. We have worked with municipal, state, and public health officials to ensure that the venue remains a safe environment for all. The following health and safety policy details the steps the Norwalk Seaport Association has taken.
 
Health and Safety Policy for the Norwalk Oyster Festival
 
*Vaccination ID and Face Masks are NOT required at the Norwalk Oyster Festival
 
To Encourage Social Distancing
 
*We have tripled the gates and entrance area spacing to ten 10 feet
 
*Pre-tickets guests will be given fast track admission to the festival
 
*We have doubled walkways @ Arts & Crafts area to more than 30 feet
 
* We have added 4000 square feet of dining area for additional spacing in tents
 
*50% more spaced out dining tents
 
*Amusement rides have spacing, cleaning, and hand sanitation areas
 
* 40 plus hand sanitizing stations on the field
 
*More socially distanced chairs added at entertainment areas
 
*Added 20% more bathrooms
 
* While traveling on all Oyster Festival shuttles in accordance with State and CDC regulations, everyone must wear a mask.
 
* The Norwalk Seaport Association in cooperation Griffin Health and the State of CT will open a vaccine administration area where people can be vaccinated if they choose to do so.
 
The public’s support and understanding is deeply appreciated as we organize the 43rd Norwalk Oyster Festival.
 
About the 43rd Annual Norwalk Oyster Festival
 
Now in its 43rd year, the Norwalk Oyster Festival is three days of fun, music, entertainment, food, and arts and crafts that has become a Connecticut tradition. Musical headliners include Mike DelGuidice & Big Shot, Steelheart, and many others. Unlimited wristbands for rides are offered on Saturday and Sunday from 11 am – 3 pm and there will be family fun professional entertainment and non-stop music. On Saturday, September 11 at 1 p.m. there will be a special 9/11 Memorial Service with an invocation and closing prayer with the Rev. Elizabeth C. Abel Paster. All entertainment is included with the price of admission.
 
The Festival organizers encourage purchasing tickets online at seaport.org. The Festival takes place Friday, Sept. 10, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday, September 11, from 11 a.m. - 11 p.m., and Sunday, September 12 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Free parking and shuttles are available and fee parking is nearby.
