Westport Farmers' Market Hosts Coat Drive for Liberation Programs

Westport, Conn. — Returning to Westport Farmers’ Market Thursday, November 10 from 10am – 2pm is its Liberation Programs Coat Drive. Location is 50 Imperial Drive, Westport.

WFM is accepting new and slightly worn coats to help Libration Programs. “For me, knowing a coat is going directly to someone in our community, is a nice way to end the summer season and kick-off the holiday season,” said Lori Cochran-Dougall, executive director of WFM.

Liberation Programs is one of Fairfield County’s leading behavioral health organizations specializing in treatment for all types of substance use disorders. Its mission is to help individuals and families overcome addiction to restore their lives and ultimately strengthen our communities. Liberation provides services for youth, adults and families that include two inpatient treatment programs, outpatient and intensive outpatient services, health education for older adults and people living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses, treatment and resources for adolescents and their families, education and prevention efforts in the community, and permanent supportive housing for families. In operation since 1971, the agency has sites in Greenwich, Stamford, Norwalk and Bridgeport and served more than 2,000 individuals in our last fiscal year.

The donations from the coat drive will be distributed directly to Liberation Programs clients through their staff in Stamford.

WFM is celebrating its last market in the Imperial Lot for 2022 on November 10. They will open November 17 in their winter home at Gilbertie’s Herb Gardens located at 7 Sylvan Lane, Westport. The market runs from 10am to 2pm every Thursday from November 17 – March 9, 2023, at 7 Sylvan Lane in Westport, CT 06880.
