Eddie says, “If you start looking, you would be surprised how many windows you find discarded by the side of the road. I keep finding myself coming back again and again to the visuals I can achieve with acrylic paints on the reverse side of recycled windows. Using this medium, I find that I can more readily present the bold colors and geometric patterns I feature in my work and find enjoyment in the challenge of working the unique character of each window into the piece itself. These works have allowed me to take something discarded and transform them into an item of beauty.”
Lois Ramunni began her love of mosaics in Tuscany, Italy, at the studio of a classical mosaic artist, and continued to grow as she studied various mosaic styles. She has exhibited her work at numerous juried art shows and for many years at the Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA) in Dania Beach, Florida.
Working with Florida interior designers, her work was shown at the Surfcomber Hotel in South Beach, Kimora in Coconut Grove and the Schrager Estate in Boca Raton. She has had private and public commissions in Florida and in Valencia, Spain, She also did five public art projects through the Art in State Buildings Awards for the Miami Dade Department of Health in West Perrine and Little Haiti, at Florida International University and Florida A&M University.
Lois states, “I love making Mosaics! I like the feel of the marble and travertine, the colors of the tiles and glass. With themes from life experiences, I want to captivate the viewer’s imagination.”
Larry Clifford has shown his work throughout New England in public libraries and fine art galleries. A couple of his pieces are currently touring the country in a national exhibit sponsored by Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA). In addition, he has been featured in the SAQA Journal and Maine Magazine. Down East Magazine is doing a profile on him and his gallery in their January 2024 issue. After earning a B.A. in Art from Northwestern University then an M.A.,in Biomedical Communications from the University of Texas, he spent 15 years producing award-winning biomedical illustrations, with an emphasis on traditional media like pen-and-ink, carbon dust, and watercolor.
