According to Paloma Bayona, NAMI Connecticut’s Program Director, “We are so happy to bring this program to Connecticut.  We have worked for a number of years with Vets, especially through the Errera Center in West Haven, and now we have something for family members.”

The course is designed to help family members understand and support their loved one while maintaining their own well-being. The trained teachers are also family members who have experience with military culture and know what it is like to have a loved one living with mental a mental health condition. The in-person group experience provides the opportunity for mutual support and shared positive impact. Participants will experience compassion and reinforcement from people who relate to their experiences.
