M&M Steaks Food Truck Launches in CT

It’s as much a part of Philadelphia folklore as Benjamin Franklin, the Liberty Bell and Rocky Balboa – just a whole lot tastier. Connecticut foodies can now obsess over a new food truck, M&M Steaks, which will specialize in Philly cheesesteaks that you’ll need to tell your friends about – bringing their take on the classic dish to the area.

Owned by Philadelphia native Dan Mullineaux and food industry veteran Hector Medina, M&M Steaks has launched and hit the streets of Stamford, CT. You can find them parked at 110 High Ridge Road (Lord & Taylor parking lot) and they have also scheduled some Friday evening dates this summer at Half Full Brewery. M&M Steaks has plans to vend at other popular Connecticut locations that will be announced later. Currently, M&M Steaks is keeping busy with not just street vending but with catering jobs and supporting community events. The schedule changes periodically and will be communicated via Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

This mobile kitchen will offer a mouth-watering range of delicious, made-to-order items created by co-owner Hector Medina. His menu includes a variety of cheesesteak sandwiches made with high-quality ingredients, bread from Good Bread Bakery, and a variety of cheese and toppings.

“We know that people in Connecticut know good food. The goal is to create food that doesn’t make you want to tell people about it, but makes you need to tell people about it,” says Hector Medina. “We want to cater to what the locals crave with freshly cooked, on-the-grill style meals. In addition to daily vending opportunities, we also want to grow our business with catering and private event opportunities.”

For uninitiated foodies, a cheesesteak is a sandwich comprised of fried, thinly-sliced beef and gobs of cheese (usually American, Provolone or Cheese-Whiz) and can be served with or without fried onions. Menu items include the “Hector’s Original”, a classic take on the original Philly cheesesteak made with ribeye and sirloin. The “Quinn Meister” is a Hector’s Original cheesesteak with Pepper Jack cheese and fresh jalapenos, for a hot kick. “Alexander the Great” is topped with provolone, bacon, garlic and mayonnaise. And the “Tater’s Tot”, a Hector’s Original, is topped with a generous helping of Cheez Wiz and tater tots. Chicken, vegetarian and vegan options are available.
