The mission of Safe Travel and its members, such as Tours of Distinction, is to work to ensure safe, sustainable, and inclusive travel that enriches the visitor and destination experience. Members of Safe Travels are united behind establishing common health and safety standards for staff and travelers as the travel and tourism sectors shift to the new normal. Safe Travels has published protocols in accordance with the World Health Organization and the Center for Disease Control for eleven sectors of the tourism industry including Tour Operators, Hospitality, Attractions, Outdoor Retail, Aviation, Airlines, Short Term Rentals, Cruises, Convention Centers, Car Rental Agencies, and Insurance. “Being part of this global community that shares the same safety protocols that we are implementing on all our tours helps us provide a consistent travel experience for everyone without sacrificing the authenticity of the experience,” said Zajacz.
Zajacz also notes that travel is a shared responsibility. “It is important that our staff and travelers practice social responsibility such as wearing a mask, practicing physical distancing, and washing hands frequently to ensure that we are collectively doing our part to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.” Tours of Distinction is committed to upholding increased standards for cleanliness and safety and has been working with suppliers and destinations to ensure that enhanced hygiene is in place in order to deliver a safe experience for staff and travelers.
New standards implemented by Tours of Distinction as a member of Safe Travels include providing masks and hand sanitizer, encouraging social distancing, enhanced sanitation, increased touchless solutions, and extra precautions when dining, visiting attractions, and in overnight stays. A professional tour guide trained in recent protocol standards accompanies every trip. “We want our travelers to know that from transportation, to lodging, dining, and attractions to expect to see new health and safety standards when you travel to a national or international destination with our company,” said Zajacz.
