SHU Appoints New Dir. of Residential Life

FAIRFIELD, Conn.—Greg Madrid, of Branford, has been promoted to Sacred Heart University’s director of residential life. Madrid has been employed at SHU for nine years and served as assistant director of residential life for seven. With the additions of on-campus residence halls Bergoglio, Toussaint, Frassati and Wiesel, Madrid has proven himself to be flexible and capable. This semester, he is working with more than 3,150 students in 15 residential areas.

As assistant director, Madrid’s focus was mainly on residential operations and facilities. He also had a major role in the first-year experience (FYE) program, which assists freshmen as they transition to campus life at SHU. Additionally, he was the liaison between the residential life office and the PIOConnect Student Tracking and Information system.

Madrid had 14 years of experience in residential life before coming into Sacred Heart, having worked at University of Massachusetts Lowell, Western New England University and Quinnipiac University. He graduated from Western New England University with a degree in business administration and earned his master’s in organizational leadership from Quinnipiac.
