Fairfield, CT - As if this week could not have gotten crazier with the last days of school and all of the fun celebrations and activities, the Fairfield Board of Education was presented with different scenarios regarding redistricting for the 2024/2025 school year for Jennings School at 31 Palm Drive, Fairfield. Below is a link to the presentation. Those affected should take some time to review all the scenarios. Note that these are only proposed scenarios by a consulting company that was hired by the Fairfield Public Schools. Nothing will be decided for quite a while, after several rounds of discussions take place over the next few weeks and months to determine the path moving forward.
Redistricting Planning Scenarios
Scenario 1a has caused concern for many in the Jennings community, as one part of it includes re-purposing Jennings School to an ECC school. One group does not believe that this is what is best for the Jennings community or Fairfield as a whole and feels it is important to share thoughts with all of the Board of Education members and town/state elected officials. There is a Board of Education Meeting on Tuesday 6/27 at 7pm at Central Office. Jennings parents, alumni and friends are invited and encouraged to attend to show support for the school. Lastly, a Facebook group titled "Save Jennings Elementary School" has been created. Many parents are sharing ideas, data, strategies and information.
