CT Boat Club Races at Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge, MA.

Cambridge, MA - Connecticut Boat Club (CBC) raced in the 53nd Head of the Charles Regatta in Cambridge, MA, which is a 3-mile-long course and the world’s largest regatta attracting thousands of athletes from all over the world. The Women’s Youth 8 placed 7th beating last year’s placement of 10th place out of 85 boats. This win guarantees the Varsity 8 a place in next year’s world renown race. Also competing this year was the CBC Women’s Youth Coxed Quad, which was a first for CBC and the second time only the regatta has held this event.

Women’s Youth 8: Cece Challe of New Canaan (coxswain); Julia Abbruzzese of Darien and Ridgefield; Ella Petreski of Pound Ridge, NY; Heidi Jacobson of Greenwich; Olivia Luther of Fairfield; Catherine Garrett of Darie; Ellie Urdang of Greenwich; Kat Kern of Greenwich; and Jenna Macrae of Stamford.

Women’s Youth Coxed Quad: Bella Fox of Wilton (coxswain); Paige Purcel of Ridgefield; Eleanor Imire of Wilton; Bridget Galloway of Ridgefield; and Lelah Conway of Wilton

About CBC (Connecticut Boat Club)

Connecticut Boat Club is a high performance girl’s youth (middle school and high school) rowing club and Women’s Masters program based on the Norwalk River in Norwalk, Connecticut.  Founded in the spring of 2010 by U.S. National Team Junior/CBC head coach Liz Trond, the team includes girls from throughout southwestern Connecticut and Westchester County New York.  CBC has proven to be a dominant force in scholastic rowing, most notably bringing home medals at Junior Worlds from 2010-2017.  The team dominates their competition at races including the Head of the Charles, the San Diego Crew Classic, the Saratoga Invitational, the Head of the Schuylkill, and the Head of the Housatonic to name a few.
