Southport Nonprofit Roundtable to Host Forum, May 12

SOUTHPORT, CT – The newly formed Southport Nonprofit Roundtable will host its first Southport Community Forum on Saturday, May 12th at Pequot Library from 10:00 – 11:30am.

The Roundtable was formed as a way for Southport’s Nonprofit organizations to promote greater community awareness and volunteer support through collaboration, communication, and exchange of ideas and resources.

The Steering Committee of founding members includes Sasquanaug Association, Pequot Library, Southport Conservancy and Southport Park.  Other Nonprofits in the General Membership include The Southport School, Trinity Episcopal Southport, Fairfield Women’s Exchange, Southport Congregational Church and Wakeman Boys and Girls Club.

The Southport Community Forum is the Roundtable’s first “friend-raising” event, where residents can learn more about each Nonprofit group, volunteer opportunities, and hear special guest speaker John Wynne share how Southport will participate in the new Fairfield Strategic Plan.  Source Coffeebus will be onsite offering free coffee to everyone with the option to buy specialty coffees and drinks.

“Southport is a beloved community steeped in history and character, with a deep culture of giving back. The Roundtable is a coming together of all community-facing Nonprofits to support each other and the town of Southport. We hope this Community Forum and Coffee Break is the first of many gatherings where we can connect to share information and solicit feedback on all things Southport,” says founding member Virginia Cargill.
