Fairfielder Caryn Sullivan to be Presenter At 2018 BWF

Fairfield, CT - Caryn Sullivan of Fairfield, the creator of PrettyWellness.com, will be one of four workshop presenters at Connecticut’s longest-running full-day leadership conference for women, the Business Women’s Forum (BWF). The 2018 BWF will strive to inspire, motivate, and excite participants during its 36th annual event on Tuesday, October 30, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.at the Aqua Turf Club in Plantsville. 

Caryn Sullivan’s workshop is titled the “Happiness Through Hardship-Inspiring Leaders to Take Care of Themselves”. Ms. Sullivan is a two-time breast cancer survivor who spent nearly 20 years working in the world of sports and entertainment largely with Disney & ESPN and the Minnesota Timberwolves/Lynx. After being diagnosed with stage IV cancer she launched PrettyWellness.com to inspire others with her journey toward wellness.

During her interactive workshop, Caryn Sullivan will inspire attendees through her personal experiences and share best practices for how individuals can take care of themselves. Participants will discover ways to instill positivity, resilience, and self-care in the workplace and at home which plays a powerful role in leadership in the busy, hectic lives.

The buzz for the 2018 BWF surrounds keynote speaker Bethenny Frankel, creator of Skinnygirl cocktails, TV talk show host and star, as well as a motivational speaker and actress Linda Larsen, BSW, MFA, CPAE. Adding to their list of accolades, both women are inspiring bestselling authors.

An anticipated 500+ participants will be able to choose from six workshops, including two “Power Networking Hour” sessions, to bring new knowledge and expertise back to their workplace and to network with workshop presenters. Workshop topics will include the importance of self-care for quality leadership, successful negotiation tactics, the role of nonverbal communication and body language at work, managing the talents of multiple generations.

The additional BWF workshop titles include “The Art of the Ask: Storytelling for Negotiation Success” which will be presented by Valerie Gordon, creator of Commander-In-She based in Canton, Connecticut. “Oops! Your Body Language Is Showing” will be presented by the speech therapist, nutritionist, alternative practitioner and award-winning professional speaker and author Carolyn Finch of Southbury. Karen Hinds, an author and the founder and CEO of Workplace Success Group in Waterbury, will present “Maximizing the Talents of a Multigenerational Workforce”.

Two “Power Networking Hour” workshops during the 2018 BWF will provide the opportunity for attendees to connect one-on-one to create new business relationships and potentially generate business leads. Participants should bring many business cards and be ready to provide their 30-second ‘elevator description’ of their business to other conference attendees.

The BWF, a program of the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce Foundation, is a thriving organization led by female executives dedicated to the professional and personal growth of working women. The non-profit BWF’s mission is to raise scholarship funds for female Post University students pursuing a degree in business, and over the past 35 years, in excess of $190,000 in scholarships has been granted. 

The 2018 Business Women’s Forum (BWF) is being presented by the Greater Waterbury Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Onyx II Fine Jewelers and Wells Fargo.
