Dave Nobile, of Fairfield's BSA Troop 90, Receives Silver Beaver Award

Fairfield, CT - Troop 90 is proud to recognize Dave Nobile's recent Silver Beaver award.

Dave has been a key volunteer in the Boy Scouts of America at the unit, District, and Council level for the last 20 years. His dedication to the program is felt throughout Troop 90 and beyond; he's earned 20 Eagle Mentor pins over the years.

Before he joined Troop 90, Dave began his service to Scouting as a Committee Member for Pack 95, later serving as Den Leader, Webelos Leader, and Assistant Cubmaster. In Troop 90, Dave served as Assistant Scoutmaster, Scoutmaster, and Committee Member, as well as serving as Chair and Associate Advisor for Crew 90.

In addition to his unit service, Dave served on the shooting sport staff of numerous Powder Horn courses, served as Shotgun Merit Badge Counselor at Camp Sequassen for several years, and is a member of the Catholic Committee for Scouting and Pomperaug District Program Committee.

The Silver Beaver Award was introduced in 1931 and is a council-level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America. The Silver Beaver is given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service. The Silver Beaver is just the latest recognition in a long list of Dave's achievements; he's also received the Bronze Pelican Award, District Award of Merit, Venturing Leadership Award, and is a Brotherhood Member of the Order of the Arrow.

Dave is an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist and Lector at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, as well as a Third Degree Knight of Columbus. Dave and his wife live in Fairfield and have two grown sons who are Eagle Scouts. Please join us in congratulating him on this well-deserved recognition!
