Every year, BSA Troop 90 ventures forth to Camp Sequassen for a week of fun and adventure. This year's camp-out in early July was no different, with Troop 90 landing first place in a camp-wide series of waterfront and field events on the final day.
Camp Sequassen is located in Northwest Connecticut, at the foot of the Berkshires in the town of New Hartford. The camp consists of 600 acres of forest with over 2,500-feet of shoreline on West Hill Pond, one of the most beautiful spring fed lakes in Connecticut. While at Sequassen, BSA Scouts have an opportunity to complete a variety of merit badges as well as fun activities ranging from crafts to competitions.
This year, 16 scouts from Troop 90 made quite a mark at the camp. The troop placed second in the Frisbee tournament, won four victories in the fire hose competition, won big in an epic water polo match, and placed first in the camp-wide land and sea battle. The troop also reconstructed their campsite fire pit and was recognized as having the largest bonfire (a six-foot tall tower!) during Thursday's Friendship Fire, when friends, family, and other troops visit Troop 90. At the Friendship Fire, Troop 90 performed a classic rendition of "New York, New York," Sequassen-style. Best of all, the troop received tier 1 Honor Troop recognition.
"It was a terrific start to the 2019-20 scouting year that everyone was happy and proud to be a part of," said Scoutmaster Vince Petrecca.

BSA Troop 90, sponsored by Greenfield Hill Congregational Church in Fairfield, Connecticut, is a leadership troop in The Connecticut Yankee Council, Pomperaug District. Troop 90 was founded in 1938.
