Meet Tom Attea, founder and creative director of Heavy Creative, Inc and one of America's most award-winning copywriters, playwright/lyricist.
Tell me about an organization in your town that makes you feel good?
After many years in Manhattan, it's delightful to be in an invitingly wooded area and to be able to do most of my copywriting online. [Tom is one of America's most award-winning copywriters and a frequently produced playwright/lyricist Off-Broadway in Manhattan's publicly funded theater]. Due to Covid, my next play, which had been scheduled for production by Theater for the New City, a Pulitzer Prize-winning venue in the Lower East Side, had to be postponed from November to March and has now been scheduled for October.
I love the fresh air, friendly neighbors, and lots of amenities, including the excellent restaurants that have somehow persevered during the pandemic.
Where do you go for inspiration and creativity?
I look out my back window, where there's an enormous ledge I call whale rock because it has a horizontal crack in the front and a glacial rock on top like a fin. Or I look out my front window, which overlooks a 15-acre pond. My sweetheart and I also go for long walks in the community, in Fairfield Hills, or in Old Mine Park. She and I also keep a boat at Eichler's Cove and like to boat on Lake Zoar.
