Fairfield, CT - BSA Troop 90 is pleased to announce the recent completion of an Eagle Scout Project by Andrew Cimmino!
Andrew’s Eagle Project collected and donated gently used sporting equipment to the Youth Group of St. Charles Parish in Bridgeport, CT. Over 230 items were generously donated by troop families and members of the community. Additionally, Andrew led a team of scouts in completing a morning's worth of outdoor clean-up activities around the Parish, including laying mulch, planting trees, constructing a small fire pit, and moving heavy windows off of the patio. Thanks to his efforts, the Youth Group can better utilize their outdoor patio/garden area and fire pit at their weekly meetings.
“The team of scouts worked really hard,” said Andrew, “and I could tell they were enthusiastic and engaged in the progression of the project. We worked together as a team, each individually using his own strengths. For example, one of the scouts had experience planting trees in his yard and graciously showed our team how to do this best. Another scout had previously assembled a similar fire pit and was instrumental in digging and measuring.”
“Andrew’s leadership on this project demonstrates what scouting is all about,” said Mike Tresca, Troop 90 Scoutmaster. “We’re so happy that Andrew and our Troop were able to give back to the community in a way that will help multiple generations, now and in the future.”
BSA Troop 90, sponsored by Greenfield Hill Congregational Church in Fairfield, Connecticut, is a leadership troop in The Connecticut Yankee Council, Pomperaug District. Troop 90 was founded in 1938.
