Bike/Hike the Beach Returns in Sept.

Fairfield, CT – Mark your calendars and join the Probus Club of Greater Bridgeport for the return of its highly anticipated, 33rd annual Bike the Beach/Hike the Beach event on Sunday, September 18.

Kicking off at Jennings Beach in Fairfield, CT, riders can enjoy a challenging tour or a more leisurely family ride by selecting one of 4, well-marked rides of varying length (10, 20, 45, or 62 miles) or a 5K fitness walk. Participants follow scenic routes through picturesque New England towns, country sides and charming beach areas along the Connecticut coast.

Bike the Beach/Hike the Beach is the Probus Club’s signature fundraiser. 100% of the funds raised from Bike the Beach are used to support individuals with disabilities either directly through the club’s volunteer programs or in partnership with local nonprofit organizations, including The Kennedy Center, Inc. in Trumbull, CT. The Probus Club and all partner organizations share in the mission of uplifting and empowering the inspirational yet underserved disabled population.

Dean E. Smith, Chairman of Bike the Beach, commented, “Our members are thrilled to bring this great event back and to welcome previous participants as well as encourage new riders/hikers to join us for this truly amazing and worthwhile experience.”
