Over 3,000 Expected at MJP Wealth Advisors Fairfield Road Races; Half Marathon Nearly Full

Fairfield, CT: Over 3,000 runners are expected at MJP Wealth Advisors Fairfield Road Races over the June 3rd and 4th weekend. On Saturday, June 3rd the 5K and Lil’ Stags Kids Fun Run will take place. The half marathon will be held on Sunday, June 4th. The “Lucas Challenge” sponsored by Fairfield University, challenges runners to conquer both the half marathon and the 5k, totaling 16.2 miles during both days of the race weekend.  The half marathon is limited to 2,000 and only a few hundred spots remain.  Over 1,000 are expected to compete in the 5K and Kid Fun Run.

New this year, the half marathon was selected to host the Connecticut State Championship. This draws the best distance runners and running clubs in the state to compete.  The male and female half marathon winners will win $400 and 2 roundtrip airline tickets from Avelo Airlines.

The Post-Race Beach Party, a runner favorite, features live music, food vendors, and an awards ceremony. The race also includes several bands and cheer groups along the ½ marathon and 5K racecourses that cheer on all the runners as they pass.  Avelo Airline tickets will be randomly given away on race weekend.
