Westport Book Sale’s Mimi Greenlee to be Honored by The Friends of CT Libraries

Westport, CT — The Westport Book Sale is thrilled to share that long-time volunteer Mimi Greenlee is to be honored by The Friends of Connecticut Libraries (FOCL) with an Individual Achievement Award at the FOCL Annual Meeting on June 10.  The award recognizes a library friends volunteer’s exceptional service, including lifetime achievement.

Mimi Greenlee has been a volunteer and a leader with the Westport Library Book Sale for over two decades.  Over the years, she has co-chaired Westport Library Book Sale Events; trained and supervised scores of book sale volunteers who process donated books; managed the book sale’s inventory and, more recently, manages the flow of donated books to the Westport Book Shop.  And she does it all with a cheerful smile, supportive encouragement, and unparalleled organizational skills.

The Friends of the Connecticut Libraries (FOCL) is a nonprofit organization that provides assistance to Library support or “Friends” groups statewide, to help them better support their associated libraries.  Westport Book Sale Ventures, the non-profit that operates the Westport Library’s Book Sales, the Westport Book Shop, and online book sales, is a library support organization and a member of FOCL.

Westport Book Sale Ventures’ Board of Directors issued this statement:  “We are very gratified that Mimi is being recognized by FOCL.  Mimi has generously shared countless hours of dedicated leadership, inspiration and encouragement with hundreds of book sale volunteers over the years.  Even greater than her organizational skills (which are considerable!) are her people and motivational skills.  Mimi Greenlee is both a mentor and a friend.”
