Earth Animal to Celebrate Raising $53K For CT Foodshare Through EA's Mitten Project

Westport, CT - Since 1979, Earth Animal, which was recently certified as a B Corp company, has been dedicated to caring for animals, people, and the Earth.

EA’s Mitten Project was founded in 2007 and is committed to supporting Connecticut Foodshare through community-backed efforts consisting of local businesses, Earth Animal customers, and individuals of like-mind and heart. 

CT Foodshare is a member of Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks. Spokesperson for CFS, Jason Jakubowski, President and CEO, states, “Earth Animal continues to support our vision of a thriving community free of hunger. This generous donation of $53,000 can help us provide 100,000 meals to our neighbors.”

The Mitten Project is only possible through the participation and generous donations of local businesses and neighbors. 2022 consisted of the following participants: Athletic Shoe Factory, Pet Pantry, The Post, J. McLaughlin, Wakeman Town Farm, Outdoor Design, Millie Rae’s, Mo’s Liquor, Milestone Restaurant, Appleberry Farm – Sandy Hook, South Pine Creek Deli, Westport Hardware, and KL and Sam, with a matching donation from Earth Animal Ventures, Inc. in Southport.

There will be a formal check presentation at the Earth Animal retail store on February 2nd at Noon located at 925 Post Road East, Westport CT 06880. Earth Animal looks forward to celebrating the generous support of so many folks who participated in the Mitten Project 2022. “It has been an amazing undertaking for us all and we thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts," says the Goldstein family and everyone at Earth Animal.
