The Maritime Aquarium Seeks Gallery Ambassadors

Norwalk, CT – The Maritime Aquarium is currently seeking volunteers who enjoy interacting with both people and animals to share the story of Long Island Sound’s ecosystem as gallery ambassadors. Applications for the spring cohort are open now through March 3.

"Volunteering at The Maritime Aquarium is a fun and rewarding experience,” said Volunteer Coordinator Jessica Boyle. “Not only will gallery ambassadors share their passion for the environment with people of all ages and make new friends with similar interests, they will also make a difference in our community!”

Gallery ambassadors will raise awareness about the Aquarium’s conservation efforts, facilitate interactions between guests and animals at touch tanks, and ensure visits to the Aquarium are enjoyable experiences. In recognition of their service, they will receive benefits including membership for two people, free parking, professional learning opportunities, and discounts at the Aquarium’s gift shop, café, and 4D Theater.

No prior experience in the field is required. Volunteers who are selected to join the program will attend an orientation on March 8, and training sessions on March 14, 16, 21, and 23.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Weekday availability is preferred.
