Milkcraft Ice Creamery to Open in Fairfield This May

FAIRFIELD – All eyes will be on the Brick Walk this May as new All Natural Small Batch Ice Creamery—Milkcraft—opens its doors and fires up its Liquid Nitrogen Mixers on Monday May 9th, 2016. Milkcraft will be chilling chef-driven Cow-to-Cone featuring locally sourced ingredients and fresh milk base from local farms.

If you’re expecting powder laden with chemical ingredients poured into a softserve machine, and kept frozen for weeks, look elsewhere. Everything at Milkcraft is made to order in dramatic fashion right before your eyes, including the ice cream. What’s cooler than cool? Liquid nitrogen. The liquid nitrogen freezes the local farm-sourced milk-base before your eyes ensuring that ice crystals that would otherwise form in a batch freezer never do, and that you enjoy the smoothest ice cream you’ve ever tasted.

Described as Hong Kong Bubblecones™and CreameeBuns™, Milkcraft’s made-to-order waffle cones and donut-ice-cream-sandwiches are the menu’s stars. Milkcraft’s made-to-order ice cream will be offered in these freshly baked Hong Kong-style egg waffle cones (think waffle cone mixed with Belgian waffle!) or in one of its CreameeBuns™ (think hot-sealed locally baked glazed buns stuffed full of Milkcraft’s artisan ice cream flavors!) A proprietary recipe, honed from years of research by Milkcraft’s travels in Hong Kong, and throughout China, makes the unique Bubblecones™ sweet and savory while having a light crispy texture.

Milkcraft’s thoughtful, and seasonally updated menu showcases its sustainable, organic and local ingredients, making it high on taste and comfort. Flavors like “Miss Piggy Does Vermont” made with Heritage Farms smoked bacon and Vermont maple syrup and the “Bourbon Breakfast” with Madecasse vanilla bean, corn flakes. Or perhaps the kids can enjoy the “Milk & Cereal” with all-natural vanilla and Fruitee O’s for a flavor reminiscent of lapping up every last drop of the milk left after you finish your cereal.

Milkcraft is the first Fairfield restaurant concept by the Milkcraft team, whose company opened Connecticut’s most iconic Italian restaurant—Spazzi—in the 90s directly behind the new Milkcraft location in the Brick Walk. Hospitality comes naturally to the team, having been hands-on in every facet of the industry from concept development to day-to-day operations of a restaurant. Milkcraft is a product of Milkcraft’s firm commitment to his philosophy that every eatery should be conceptualized, and designed from scratch in order to not only reflect its neighborhood, but also to contribute significantly to its community.

An Environment Well-Suited for “Chilling”

Milkcraft’s aesthetic is an unmatched balance of industrial and natural themes created by award-winning design firm, L.I.D. A nod to old packing house combines stainless steel, reclaimed and natural live-edge wood, white beveled subway tile walls and white marble set a modern stage for the restaurant’s interior. Milkcraft’s most striking feature is a grass sidewalk café that wraps the restaurant’s location. Floor-to-wall windows make the transition from the high design of the chilling room to the comfort of the café seamless feel, making the shop a place for any and all to gather often. Painstaking attention to details, down to the custom chandeliers, speaks to Milkcraft’s identity, but the concepts true character can be found in the imagination, and quality found in the ice cream..

Milkcraft is located at 1215 Post Rd, Fairfield Connecticut 06824.
