Milford, CT - The Connecticut Audubon Society Coastal Center at Milford Point, 1 Milford Point Road, Milford, is seeking Citizen Scientist Volunteers for its Project FeederWatch, Wednesdays and Thursdays in February, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.  This is a Free opportunity. Sign up for single or multiple sessions.

Help scientists track trends in bird populations by participating in Project FeederWatch at the Connecticut Audubon Society’s Coastal Center in Milford. As a one-time or multi-time volunteer with this citizen science program, you’ll learn about birds as you help identify, count and record the visitors at the Center's feeders.

No need to go outside -- there’s a perfect view of the feeders through the center’s large observation windows. The Center's staff and volunteers will assist you with bird identification and the counting process. Bring your favorite binoculars and bird identification book or use the Center's supplies.

Project FeederWatch studies the distribution and populations of winter bird species throughout the country. The Center's bird count data will be reported to Project FeederWatch and contribute to scientific studies at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. All skill levels are welcome for this free program.
