Children Can Explore the Wonderful World of Oz at Pequot Library This Summer

Southport, CT – Children ages 6-12 can explore the wonderful world of Oz at Pequot Library from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Monday, July 23 to Friday, July 27, 2018. This weeklong, half-day program follows the adventures of Dorothy and her little dog, Toto, as they journey down the yellow brick road to the Emerald City through storytelling, crafts, games, and a Wizard of Oz-themed lemonade stand to be constructed for the Library’s Summer Book Sale. The workshop costs $150 for Friends of Pequot Library members and $175 for non-members.

Other activities include examining Pequot’s collection of rare Wizard of Oz books, creating pop-up art, doing science experiments, and enjoying outdoor games. This workshop is run by Wonderland BookSavers. This workshop is run by Wonderland BookSavers, a 501(c)(3) group that has donated over 200,000 books to 500,000 children across four continents. This organization is primarily run by children under the age of 18 and was originally started at Pequot Library.
