Charter Oak Brewing Drops Anchor in Danbury, CT

Danbury, CT - After five years traveling around the Northeast 'gypsy brewing' and building its brand, Charter Oak Brewing has chosen Danbury, Connecticut for its permanent headquarters. Its new 10,000-square-foot facility includes a 20-barrel brewing system as well as a pilot five-barrel system, selected by Charter Oak's owner and brewmaster, Scott Vallely.

Vallely will be joined by Mike Granoth to assist with brewing and operations. Both are recent graduates of the Science and Engineering program at the American Brewer's Guild in Middlebury, VT.

"Charter Oak couldn't be more excited to be able to call Danbury its new home," says Vallely, adding, "Mike brings new ideas and expert brewing skills to the team and we are looking forward to being a part of the community and continuing to brew small batch, fresh craft beer."

During the official ribbon cutting for the formal opening of the new brewery, Danbury's Mayor Mark Boughton (also, Connecticut candidate for governor) remarked, "Danbury welcomes Charter Oak Brewing to the business landscape and realizes the economic importance of the brewery to the city."

The operation has a capacity of nearly 4,000 barrels and space to grow to over 25,000 barrels. The Danbury location also has a taproom with 10 rotating draft lines and offers cask conditioned beer as well. Charter Oak is currently focused on the Connecticut craft beer market and has plans to expand its distribution to the neighboring states of Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island.
