Shoe Store The Perfect Pair Opens in Downtown Fairfield

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — The Perfect Pair, a brand new ladies shoe boutique, announced its grand opening in downtown Fairfield at 14 Sanford Street. The retailer will host a ribbon cutting ceremony with Fairfield First Selectman Mike Tetreau and the Chamber of Commerce in front of the store on Wednesday, September 26 at approximately 4:15 p.m.

“Opening a shoe boutique has always been a dream of mine,” said Carrie Bocian, local Fairfield resident and owner of The Perfect Pair. “Supporting the local community as a small business owner is incredibly rewarding, and it allows me to remain close to my family and friends.”

After commuting to Manhattan for years, working in media and content negotiations, Bocian decided it was time to brainstorm ideas closer to home. A self-described “shoe-addict", she realized there was a need for a ladies shoe boutique in town.

The Perfect Pair is the latest female-owned small business to open its doors in downtown Fairfield — an area that has seen a recent exodus of larger retail chain stores. While neighboring towns have a surplus of vacant space, Fairfield seems to be filling up with new mom-and-pop brands.

Bocian worked with award-winning local interior design firm Moss Design to completely transform the space with beautiful textiles, wallpaper, bold paint hues and unique lighting. Correia Woodworks, owned by Bocian's husband Luciano, crafted custom cabinetry and shelving to display the shoes.

"My hope is to showcase new, fun brands in the store, with a mix of tried-and-true favorites," explained Bocian. "I truly want everyone to find their perfect pair!"
