CT Audubon Fairfield to Host Art & Nature After-School Series

Fairfield, CT - The Connecticut Audubon Society Center at Fairfield, 2325 Burr Street, Fairfield, will host an Art and Nature Afterschool Series, aimed at fostering a love of art through exploration of the natural world. The six-week series will be offered on Wednesdays, Jan. 16 through Feb. 20, 2019, 3:45 to 5 p.m.   

CAS members: $90; Non-members: $120

Ages 6 to 12

A new Art and Nature After-School Series starts off the new year at the Connecticut Audubon Society’s Center at Fairfield. Recommended for children ages 6 to 12, the six-week program meets on Wednesdays, January 16 through February 20, from 3:45 to 5 p.m.

Designed to inspire a stronger appreciation of nature and foster a love of the arts, the program encourages exploration and hands-on visual learning and self-expression to awaken the senses and inspire creativity. 

Projects combining educational themes in science and nature will include designing and building animal habitats with natural materials, still life drawing and painting, science illustration, and creating and recording observations in nature journals. 

The class meets at the Center at Fairfield, 2325 Burr Street. Cost of the six-week series is: CAS Members $90; Non-members $120. Advance registration is required and space is limited so early sign-up is recommended.
