You're IT Yalla Organic Hummus & Grill!

Three questions with Idan Mitchel of Yalla Organic Hummus & Grill.

Why did you start your business?

Yalla Organic Hummus & Grill started with a vision of our Owner/Chef Ronen Yur and his Health Coach wife Marcia Calisman to feed the world healthy. We realized there is no quick service restaurant in the market that incorporates organic food and Mediterranean cuisine, and it sort of went from there. The word Yalla is actually Hebrew and Arabic word for “Let’s Go”, so really the concept is built on that mantra of Lets Go Organic. At Yalla, we make everything ourselves from scratch, from our amazing Hummus and salads to our Cold Pressed juices, drinks and desserts. This allows us to control the ingredients and provide a unique offering for every diet. Yalla Organic is a Kosher-style restaurant that’s product offerings are entirely Dairy Free, GMO-Free, almost entirely Gluten Free and offers many vegan options that are all served with biodegradable packaging and utensils.

Finish this sentence in regard to your business. “I wish I could…”

I wish I could continue to provide our community with delicious foods for any diet and grow together to ultimately feed the world healthy. This is a father and son operation that’s always looking for ways to grow, improve and support our surroundings. We’ve always considered Yalla Organic to be a community-minded business, never shy from donating our time or food, for that matter, to charity. We love you Fairfield, thank you for your amazing support in our first year of operation, and of course, thank you for giving us a platform to give right back.

Best selling product/service?

This is a tough question. I would say it’s between our 100% in-house Cold Pressed juices and our Bowls. The Yalla Organic Cold Pressed Juices are the most amazing products, every single one packs 1.6 pounds of fruits and vegetables and we add no water to dilute nor do we add any preservatives. Our line of juices include Sunshine, Detox, Heartbeet, Red Glow (seasonal) and Rainbow. Each one with a distinct combination of ingredients that are made in-house with a lot of love. They’re delicious, seriously!

Yalla Organic Bowls and Salads are the heart and soul of this concept. The menu is a 5 step process, first you pick your style (Pita/Wrap/Salad/Bowl), then your favorite hummus (Classic, Roasted Red Pepper and Roasted Carrot Hummus), then your protein (Classic Falafel, Yalla Falafel, Chicken Shawarma, Slow Cooked Chicken, Shakshuka and Scrambled Tofu), then unlimited salads from 12 amazing options and we finish off with 6 sauce options. Served with toasted half Pita to clean your Bowls of all the leftover hummus. The Bowls are made with sugarcane and pack 32oz of deliciousness.
