Three questions with Gayle Szuchman, owners of Events by Gayle.
Why did you start your business?
I have always worked in the event planning industry but took time off to start a family and take care of young children. After deciding that the time was right to re-launch my career, I dabbled in some other industries and even became a Certified Specialist of Wine. But I realized that my passion is event planning. I have always loved helping my clients turn their vision into reality. I am a super organized person, love entertaining, food, wine and design. So I created my website and launched Events by Gayle.

Employ more people. There are so many talented, smart, creative re-launchers looking to be hired. It is very hard to gain employment when you have taken time off. Many businesses are not willing to give people the chance. My goal is to continue growing so that I can create more job opportunities, especially for women and re-launchers.
I use many local businesses to support my business. A large part of what I do is refer other event professionals to my clients. I work to create a team that I feel will best accomplish the goals and outcome of my client's event, whether it be a corporate event, wedding or grand opening. Some of the local businesses I support include florists, photographers, tent and furniture rental companies and caterers. I also use local graphic designers for marketing materials for both my business and my clients.
