Why Small Businesses Matter
Shop small, do big things for your community
Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story.
You're IT Wings Over Water School of Swimming!
Three questions with Wings Over Water.
Why did you start your business?
Edie Flood is the owner and founder of Wings Over Water School of Swimming in Brewster NY, 25 years ago and Fairfield CT, 8 years ago. She personally had two near drowning experiences as a child and then later on when she was a lifeguard. It was around that time that Edie became passionate about helping others to be safe and comfortable in the water. She began swim lessons at a local pool but she knew one day she would have her own facility. Drowning Is Preventable is part of the company motto.
What is your best selling product or service?
How many people do you employ? Any seniors or local students?
