Pequot Library Offers Three Different Book Clubs

Southport, CT – Pequot Library encourages you to join one of several once-a-month book clubs for various ages held on Tuesdays from 4:30-5:15 p.m. at Pequot Library. Registration is required at pequotlibrary.org and refreshments will be served.

The Mother and Daughter Book Club, March 12, April 9, and May 14 is for girls 8-10 and their mothers. Come and discuss some of the best in children’s literature. For March 12 read and discuss The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate by Jacqueline Kelly; April 9 share Home of the Brave by Katherine Applegate, and on May 14 finish this series by reading and discussing The Secret Garden by Francis Hodgson Burnett.

The Banned Books Book Club, March 19, April 23, May 21 is for ages 9-12. On March 19 read and discuss

Julie of the Wolves by Jean Craighead George; April 23 My Brother Sam is Dead by Christopher Collier and

James Lincoln Collier; and on May 21 The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare.

The Magic Tree House Book Club, March 26, April 30, May 28 is for grades 1-3. Explore history and fantasy through the adventures of Jack and Annie by best-selling author Mary Pope Osborne! Read and discuss on March 26 Sunset of the Sabertooth; April 30 Dolphins at Daybreak; and on May 28 Ghost Town at Sundown.
