Why Small Businesses Matter

Shop small, do big things for your community

Why Small Businesses Matter puts a spotlight on the local merchants who donate their time, talent, goods, and services for the betterment of our community. The shop local movement spreads virally as local businesses who are “tagged” have the opportunity to share their story.

You're IT Three Roses Studio!

Three questions with Frankie Frieri, owner of Three Roses Studio.

Why did you start your business?

I wanted to open up a beautiful, private, custom, intimate studio, unlike any other tattoo studios in the area. A different feel and vibe from your “traditional studio” that hosts and offers a wide array of non-tattoo related events such as yoga, paint and sip, open mic/comedy night, knitting club. Three Roses Studio is also an art gallery. My vision is to have people at our studio who are not remotely into tattooing or tattoos but feel comfortable taking a yoga class or a knitting class or simply enjoying the space.

Finish this sentence in regard to your business: I wish I could...

I wish I could (and I'm trying my hardest) to change people's perception of what a tattoo studio, tattoo artist and tattoo art is! For so long (and still to this day) 95% of studios in the area are all the same - they are really scary intimidating places to go! My studio is the complete opposite.  I love ART and want to give art the respect that it deserves.

How many people do you employ?

I only employ one person - myself.  The reason being is because my studio is a private and intimate space and I dedicate all my time to my clients. To me, it’s not about the quantity of work - it’s about the quality. I do have my yoga instructor Victoria who comes to the studio every other week and my mother who leads the knitting club here.
