For students in grades 6 and 7

Calling all animal lovers in grades 6 and 7! If you've ever wanted to go behind the scenes at a nature center, and get hands-on experience caring for animals while learning more about them, The Connecticut Audubon Society offers an after-school Junior Animal Care class that may be just right for you!

This popular weekly class is an opportunity to join naturalist staff in caring for, and studying, the education animal ambassadors who call the Center at Fairfield their home. Students receive an overview of our live animal residents including reptiles, amphibians, birds and invertebrates. From glamorous to gross, you’ll participate in animal husbandry care, prepare and offer food, and help ensure the animals have a healthy living environment. At the end of the course each participant will receive a certificate of completion.

Space is very limited and advance registration is required. The six-week series fee is $90 for CAS members, and $120 for non-members. Proceeds support The Connecticut Audubon Society’s conservation and environmental education programs in Fairfield. Pre-registration required at:

www.ctaudubon.org/fairfield-programs-events/, or call 203-259-6305 x109.
