Westport, CT - Office Evolution, a rapidly-growing B2B franchise offering shared office space, coworking, private offices, executive suites, virtual offices and business services, has teamed up with Westport entrepreneurs, Laura & John Kaufman, to open a new business center in Westport.
The 8,000 square foot space is centrally located on the second floor in a newly renovated building at 500 Post Road East with abundant natural light and modern décor. Office Evolution offers small businesses and entrepreneurs professional office space with 24/7 access and flexible terms. The Westport location is walkable to many local lunch spots, services and retail, including downtown. It is easily accessible from I-95 and the Merritt Parkway as well as the Westport and Greens Farms Metro-North train stations. There are 36 fully furnished private offices, two conference rooms with state-of-the-art, easy-to-use technology, a comfortable coworking space, phone booths for taking private calls, as well as a community kitchen and copy/printing and mail areas. Members can choose from several plans, including mail and phone services as well as available administrative support. Members and guests also enjoy abundant free parking, complimentary gourmet coffee & tea and additional beverages and snacks for purchase.
Laura is an educator by training and has also worked in non-profit as well as in her own professional organizing business before becoming a franchisee with Office Evolution. John’s almost thirty-year career as a revenue management, strategy and operations executive has primarily been with large companies in the travel/hospitality and media industries and he is excited about the idea of building a business from the ground up. Laura is doing most of the day-to-day operation while John continues in his corporate job, supporting in many ways behind the scenes, thanks to his extensive business experience. With both of their boys grown and almost flown, they are excited to be pursuing this new endeavor together.
“What really attracted me to Office Evolution was the idea of building community among local small business people,” Laura said. “So many people work alone in their homes or try to get work done or hold meetings at Starbucks, but it can be difficult to focus and conduct business in those settings. At Office Evolution, there is a range of membership plans at an affordable price point. We want to support our members by providing inviting workspace, networking opportunities and other support to help small business overcome challenges and achieve their goals.”
Another reason the Kaufmans were drawn to Office Evolution was their corporate values. Headquartered near Boulder, Colorado, the culture at Office Evolution is relaxed, but professional. “Our focus is on people. We want our members and guests to enjoy coming to our space, where they feel happy and supported not only by us, but by each other. It doesn’t cost us anything to just smile and be friendly,” John says.
With the Westport opening, that brings the number of Office Evolution locations open across the US to 62, including one that opened last year in Stamford and a handful of others in the northeast. One of the many perks of being an Office Evolution member is 24/7 access to all locations nationwide.
Mark Hemmeter, Founder & CEO of Office Evolution says, “It’s great that Laura & John have lived in the community where they have such deep roots and an extensive network. That really enables them to know their market and meet the local needs. In addition, they embrace our corporate values and common purpose, which is to support local business owners and their dreams. Their location is beautiful and it reflects their warm vibe and positive energy. It’s going to be exciting to watch it fill up with great members!”
“With so many commuters spending hours on the train or highway to get to work in the city or elsewhere, it just makes sense to provide somewhere people can work closer to home. We are all striving to have good work/life balance and cutting down on commuting time helps with that,” according to Laura.
A grand opening with tours of the new business center is slated for April 11, 2019, from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Westport Weston Chamber of Commerce will be on hand for a ribbon cutting ceremony and reception at 5:00 p.m. Please call or email to register to attend at
