Fairfield Museum Hosting Post Memorial Parade Picnic, May 27

Fairfield, CT - Continue celebrating the Memorial Day holiday after the town parade at the Fairfield Museum’s annual Memorial Day Picnic! The Museum, located at 370 Beach Road, will host a free afternoon of games and fun from 12:00 to 3:00pm. Bring a picnic and enjoy a bounce house courtesy of the Fairfield YMCA, music from local singer/songwriter Billy Ruegger, and activities like a three-legged race and a watermelon-eating contest. Memorial Day activities are generously sponsored by First County Bank.

Admission to the Museum is free all day on Memorial Day too, so visitors can view all of the current exhibitions including Make Your MarkCreating Community, and the new Black Rock: 375 show, that will open on May 23.

The Fairfield Museum is a part of the Blue Star Museums program, which provides free admission for active-duty military and their immediate family members all summer long, from Memorial Day through Labor Day. 

Also on Memorial Day weekend, to remember and celebrate the men and women who have served, the Museum is hosting a Yoga Benefit Class for the Veterans Yoga Project. The class will be held at the Museum, Saturday morning May 25, from 8:00am to 9:30am. No prior experience is required and all levels are welcome! Practice will conclude with a candle lighting ceremony in honor and remembrance of service members. Bring a yoga mat or a towel. All funds raised will directly support Veterans Yoga Project in their mission of supporting veterans, families, and communities.
