H. Smith Richardson Clubhouse Ground-Breaking, Nov. 20

Fairfield, CT - After almost two years of planning, securing funding & approvals, and engaging a general contractor, the H. Smith Richardson Building Committee and the Town of Fairfield will be holding a ground‐breaking ceremony for its new clubhouse at the H. Smith Richardson Golf Course at 2425 Morehouse Highway in Fairfield Connecticut.

The existing clubhouse was built in conjunction with the opening of the golf course in 1972, and has had no meaningful updates or upgrades since opening. The clubhouse has effectively reached the end of its useful life.

The new clubhouse will be expanded in size to facilitate hosting golf outings and events. The new clubhouse will also be repositioned so that the dining room and patio will be overlooking the finishing 18th hole of the golf course.

The project also includes renovating and expanding the cart barn and increasing parking to nearly 200 parking spaces.

The targeted completion date for the clubhouse is September of 2020, but the plans have been coordinated to allow the golf course to remain open for business during the construction period in 2020.
